It's an MMO. Expect charges as a prerequisite for a good MMO.
DCU Online:
"Most importantly, we made sure to check in and see whether or not the title will be subscription-based or free to play. In a surprising move, Wes confirmed that not only will there be no subscription fee for DC Universe Online, but that the game will feature completely platform-open servers; this means the servers will be cross-compatible between the PS3 and PC versions, no matter where...
I don't really debate it. These are good looking games.
I'd probably replace GoW with Heavy Rain. I haven't been watching MW2 at all, but the screen grab there doesn't make it look as impressive as the others on the list.
Edit: I know it's not out and not coming out in 2009, but the list seems to ignore that for most titles here anyway.
The ending of FFX makes me tear up a bit. When Tidus starts fading away and he dives off that ship and finds his dad waiting, the two finally reconciled. It's so... *sniff*
But then FFX-2 ruins it.
I don't disagree Demon, but again, that is really no longer the case.
PC devs have learned their lessons from console's meteoric rise in the industry and have largely adopted standards so that you're not always having to reinvent your hardware for each and every game. As a result, PC games often don't require the latest and greatest hardware to run. That's my view of it anyway. In my experience, I haven't had to upgrade every few months at all.
I agree mostly, though it's a crappy article.
Although if you're paying to upgrade every few months, I'd say you're doing something wrong. It's a flawed argument to begin with.
PC development follows consoles. Consoles aren't more powerful than average gaming PCs and they don't change over time. So why am I upgrading "every few months" to keep up with games made for weaker hardware that never gets upgraded?
The only real point I like is that PC...
PC version. If the game is mod friendly and you can run it, it's a no-brainer which version to pick imo.
I hope they're trying mods for both console versions. Maybe cut down on the b*tching and boasting over which is the "superior version"...
*obligatory disappointment at the game going handheld/weak 3D graphics/etc*
Besides that, wonder what it has to offer.
Kotor 3, sure. But that won't happen. Bastards.
I'd also like to see a real sequel to Front Mission instead of this 3PS crap.
@Resevoir:
FFXIII and XIV are going to have Uematsu. I doubt Versus is Uematsu.
I didn't really think Jaffe was totally in the right. The other guy had valid points as well.
But they argued them like spastic idiots over the net with FUs and STFUs. It is not that hard to be civil in disagreement. A professional man needs to learn PR. I've got nothing against the guy being social and all that, but you've got to learn that when the attention is on you, you're representing more than yourself.
"CAN WE GET NEW"
That's what I get for typing comments before eating. Kudos on tag though.
I have no idea where this note is though.
^^^Did you by chance click on the "toggle visibility of mature content" button right under the title?
As for the article, this is disgustingly stupid. I thought it was increasingly obvious that millions of fans prefer anime style BECAUSE it is different. Stop mangling the art style to something you think will sell in the West. Anime already sells. Go with that.

Hey N4G staff, mods, submitters, whomever. CAN WE GET NEW FROM OB...
@Chu:
But there are such things as 3rd-party studio partnerships which often preclude the multiplatform release of the title. This is probably what that is. So that's kind of like me suggesting Demon's Souls, inFamous, and LBP will go multi at some point.
Still on the fence.
It looks nice, but if it's essentially a lesser DMC or NG clone, I call it a rental like Ninja Blade. So far I don't see where the depth is.
A very good game back in the day. Not as forbidding in its difficulty either.
@Godmars:
Look, there's not much of an argument that JPRGs sell better in Japan. That's understood and I don't debate that. They have always been a niche genre abroad even when FFVII caused a great boom for the genre. Of course they'll sell better in Japan and better on a Japanese console. Japan is brand loyal like that, especially when the competition is foreign.
But here and now, what does MS have to do with the recession of JRPGs? (Is what I'm calling it for now) ...
First half is decent. Last half is trash and completely uninformed.
Trying to turn FFXIII going multi into "MS is destroying the JRPG" is almost sublime in its absurdity. The only thing worse than that point is the substandard evidence used to lend credence to it. 4th quarter fanboyism in an otherwise decent article is still fanboyism.
"Sure there will be uninformed detractors that say otherwise, however they probably never experienced a PS3 exclusive....
I dunno about Huxley but MS (MGS) were in on the short rise and fall of Marvel U. This all seems to have started with the failure to get True Fantasy Live out the door on Xbox original. I don't know what's wrong with MS and MMOs. They keep promising, talented devs show interest, but nothing ever materializes besides two old titles (FFXI and PSU) on their new machine. It's damn embarrassing.
Boss is one of the coolest characters ever and in such a badass way. The first time I saw her riding that white horse I thought "I DO NOT want to fight that woman". And she can pull off cool without the giant chest and exposed thong. I don't mind either of those two things btw *grin* but change is good.
I think if we're going to have more awesome characters like that, they have to come from the West. It's interesting that the female protagonists we cite as strong and i...
Eh, I appreciate well-designed character or a well-plotted romance scenario, that's about all.
